Allt som du gett mig / All you have given me

Joh 17:7; Mt 7:14.

(en) You have been given so much in life. Just by being born. Someone gave you life. With this life came personality, abilities, foundational attitudes and relations. These gifts – as we may call them in a wider meaning – you can use to create a good life for yourself and your family – and others. If your life is or becomes a good life depends of course also on the blessing of God and opportunities, not only on yourself. But you can find the narrow road that leads to life – not only the eternal but also the secular.

You have been given great material but really even greater invisible assets. They are much greater than we have understood. There is really a lot to be thankful for – for which to thank both God and men. When you cultivate thankfulness it heals you from the root of bitterness.

Now they have known that all things which you have given me are from you”, Jesus is praying. It usually takes a little time for us to understand this at depths. How wonderful when we reach this insight. God had given us everything we are and have. We have been given lingvistic and logic abilities as well as the ability to imagine a better world. Every day we may take our next step on that narrow road.

Joh 17:7; Mt 7:14.

Uppenbara ditt namn (sv)/ Manifest your name (en)

(en) To reveal or manifest a name does not only mean to tell a name or what someone is called. It means to live in a certain spirit, to reveal an essence, a certain character. You see this clearly in the Bible. Inside and outside of a human being are inextricable tied together. Names were given to sons and daughters as a wish or a prayer for something to happen, or as an expression for something that had happened. Often God said what names to give.

When Jesus prays: ”I have manifested your name to the men whom you have given me out of the world. They were yours, you gave them to me, and they have kept your word” it is very clearly an expression of a wish and a prayer for the essence of God to influence us as disciples and that all of us would live in that spirit – keep ourselves steady to that essence. He never meant for us to only ”have the name” or to be hypocrites; we should live under the influence of the nature/essence of God in the world. (John 17:6)

We are called to manifest the names of God, His essence and presence, and give it to new generations. It is not enough to just tell what God is called or to point to someone far away or to someone we don´t believe we can manifest. It must come organically in and through us to the ones that God gives us. There is no other way for the Kingdom of God.
